BRITISH CULTURE (VOKI)

Welcome back! Today we are going to explore some of the most relevant aspects from British culture. But, first of all, I want you to meet someone, so please click HERE.

Behold the queen, students! Just so you know, Queen Elizabeth's words are part of the speech she gave on the day of her coronation in 1953. Once you have heard what she has to say, I would like you to try and transcribe it. You can repeat it all the times you need, so don't worry if you don't understand everything the first time. I know it's not easy.

Next, I am going to ask you to read THIS article about England where you will learn about some of this country's most characteristic cultural features. After you read it I want you to click HERE so that you can play the Kahoot! I've prepared for you, based on this reading. I promise it's an easy one, and I'm sure you'll do amazing,

Then, you will have to write a short essay comparing England to Spain and pointing out at the aspects you find more likeable.

And, finally... If you enjoy music as much as I do and you would like to know more about the history of music in the UK you can read THIS article dealing with some world-wide known British bands from the 1990s. This is not a compulsory task, but I wanted to include it here so you could have more information about the British culture.
